[Knowing that things could have gone very differently in that other reality or whatever it was, Jaune can't really resent Mercury. He's already accepted Emerald for a while, but he never extended that to her partner. He's sure that he's still a jerk, but...he sucks less than some of his other former deputies and a lot of people in general.
