[It's the first thing he says to her. Of all the things he could say after nothing, it's he has her dog.

But she's right and they both know she is. Her saying that doesn't change it, but he owes her and he can never make it up to her. What he can do is respect her wishes.

There's another delay on his end, this time for about twenty minutes.]

[ She's not going to tell Jaune that he was just the first one that Battler made her watch, but she's sure he can figure it out. There's one question on her mind though, one thing she's wondering if she can just.. give him back. She doubts it, since she doesn't know Jaune well enough, but it's worth a shot. ]

[Of course they weren't okay. But if they were reaching out, even if only after Weiss had talked to them first, that was still significant.]

Hospital. He didn't kill Ruby, Blake, or Winter.
There were others too, but he didn't make me watch so I didn't see.

[ She gets the feeling Jaune gave up a memory, but if it's just that something feels off.. she doubts there's much she can do to figure out what it was. ]

{He had avoided looking at anyone when he woke up. He didn't want to see their faces. But the numbness gives way to a blind rage.

It's a good thing they're texting. He's going to kill him. It's so screwed up. Everything about this is wrong. Why did Weiss have to give up a part of herself, just because some sick monster decided to go on a murdering spree? He wants to say something to help, but any words he could offer would probably be empty. They wouldn't fix anything. His thoughts kept spiraling in the same self-destructive patter. Weiss had died, Weiss had watched, she had lost something, all because of a stupid idea and being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He can't make this better. He thought he had already accepted that. So why is it that much more difficult to come to terms with now?]

[ She knew she should've tried to say something meaningful or helpful, or even just argue with what he was saying, but she couldn't see a point to argue. If it was that becoming stronger would help, she would've, but she knows that's not true. Getting more power? It didn't do anything. So what was she supposed to say besides "Okay"? Jaune was thinking the same thing she was. ]
